Hi Nancy,

I am unaware of Schroth providers in the Los Angeles area. If you'd like to travel to Boston to learn Schroth, let us know. Our long program is designed to accommodate patients coming from a distance.

Hi Kathy,

It does sound like your daughter may be a potential candidate for Schroth. However, there are numerous factors to consider prior to initiating our program. A few are: Risser sign, bone age, medical history, spinal flexibility, discipline (is your child willing to do the program?) etc. Our program is comprehensive and usually seven days of training for three hours duration. Many people from the NY, NJ area or beyond, choose to break up the training into sessions over 4 day, then 3 day over two long weekends.

Typically, patients email, or snail mail, recent x-rays, five digital photos as indicated on the New Patient page, and a scoliosis and medical history for an assessment.

It happens that Marc just received a testimonial from a mom who brought her son from New Jersey in August; his scoliosis was in the same range as your daughter’s. You may want to check out her perspective of the program on our Schroth Testimonials page.

Hi my daughter has mild scoliosis and was in a spinec or brace since 9. She recently turned 13 and curve progressed to a 24 degree curve. Do you think your program would benefit her? She is currently seen by dr Deutchman and dr. Lama Tia in NYC.

Hi Katherine,

You remind me of Katharina Schroth. It was her intuition about her own scoliosis that inspired her to develop the Schroth Method! You even have a similar name. She focused on spinal education for scoliosis, and that is what we are hoping to help spread in the US. It is so important for people with scoliosis to understand their unique spines.

You mentioned England. Our scoliosis program is shorter and with results as effective as in Germany! Also, Dr. Moramarco offers one to one Schroth Method instruction, rather than group, making it a truly individualized and comprehensive program for you and your spine, at a pace you are comfortable with.

Please check out the Schroth Method Results Poster just posted on our site. It was created by Jill Hicks, PT at an independent physical therapy department at Wheeling Jesuit University. She used data from 10 random adolescents obtaining scoliosis treatment from Dr. Moramarco to compile her results on the effectiveness of the Schroth Method.

Adults are experiencing excellent results as well with improvements in vital capacity, chest expansion, posture and pain reduction.

I am very eager to learn more about correct breathing. I have intuited that I could somehow "even things out" via some kind of breathing and contraction combo of the convex side. But I can see that symmetrical breathing can make the curve worse. I have also beein trying to apply traction, stretch my spine in various ways (such as hanging from a grabber on a beam in my basement!). I think it would be a good idea if I actually learned how to do these things properly.

I would like to get further info on the STroth method. Is it similar to the treatments offered in England and The Scoliosis Gold clinics?
