• 10-year-old female
  • Initial Cobb angles 35º/28º
  • Risser 0

This Louisiana patient came to see us after progressing while “watching and waiting” and wearing a Boston Brace as her first scoliosis brace. She was only ten when she came to see us with Cobb angles of 35º and 28º. Now fourteen years-old, she’s had a few trips to Boston and was just recently fit in a new Chêneau-Gensingen brace. Her current Cobb angles are 30º and 18º. To date, that’s curve reduction of 5º and 10º! When scoliosis starts early and growth is significant, active management often involves more than one brace for optimal curve management. With scoliosis, it is very important to see treatment through to the end of skeletal maturity. This patient is currently estimated at Risser 4, so she’s getting close but not there yet. Stay tuned for her final result!
