- 11-year-old female
- Initial Cobb angles 14º/28º
- Risser 0
For the past four years, this patient and her mom have traveled from Japan to Boston each July to manage and stay ahead of her scoliosis. When she first began, her scoliosis curves measured 14º and 28º. She participated in our Schroth program and was fit for a Gensingen brace. Due to her substantial growth, they’ve replaced her brace each year. We are happy to report she’s gotten successively better with each passing year and has experienced moderate scoliosis straightening without surgical intervention! Now that she is just about fully grown (a Risser 4), her scoliosis is mild and relatively stable for nearly four years now. This patient’s most recent out-of-brace measurements came in at 13º and 15º.
