We just returned from Leipzig, Germany where Dr. Marc gave a presentation at OTWorld – a world congress and leading international trade fair for specialists in prosthetics, orthotics, and orthopedic rehabilitation. His presentation (last Friday) was part of a symposium on scoliosis chaired by Josef Lammert and Dr. Franz Landauer of Germany.

Dr. Marc’s presentation focused on scoliosis rehabilitation. Other presenters from the scoliosis symposium at OTWorld included Schroth Best Practice board members Dr. Hans-Rudolf Weiss, Maksym Borysov, and Niko Tournavitis. Their presentations highlighted evidence for our scoliosis treatment protocols, best practices for scoliosis bracing and the advantages of CAD/CAM design for scoliosis braces.

During our trip to Leipzig, which was dual purpose, providers from around the world met for Schroth Best Practice Academy Board meetings. Our group spent two productive days brainstorming, exchanging information, and collaborating on ideas to continue to improve patient care. Considerable discussion was devoted to improving the brace-wearing experience for patients and continuing to provide the best possible scoliosis treatment outcomes–a top priority. It’s always beneficial to confer with like-minded professionals who strive to push the envelope and want more for their patients. It was also a pleasure to have the opportunity to finally meet a few of our colleagues from Asia who we’d never met in person.

It was a busy and rewarding week. It’s always great to have the opportunity to get together with our international colleagues, spread the news to other professionals about the incredible results our patients are getting, and reinforce the goals and methods that make Schroth Best Practice and the Gensingen brace the clear best choices for Schroth method care!
