NYC surgeons recommended immediate spinal fusion surgery for this thirteen-year-old CT girl with Cobb angles of 50º and 30º. Her parents decline and brought her to Scoliosis 3DC® instead. Dr. Marc fit her in a Chêneau style brace and after just one fitting, her in-brace x-ray showed a correction of more than 60%! A few months later she returned for our Schroth scoliosis rehabilitation program. Within one year, her 50-degree scoliosis had reduced substantially. She continued brace compliance and her scoliosis reduced to 30º and 20º. She remained stable through the end of growth. Both the patient and her parents are ecstatic that she was able to escape spinal fusion surgery for her scoliosis. Considering she was a Risser 3 at the start, her result is really impressive!
