This Boston area patient with severe scoliosis came to us after doctors recommended spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis. Hers is a wonderful result, especially considering that this girl was 4 years post menses at the time she began treatment with us, and a Risser 5. (FYI–most Dr’s consider girls skeletally mature at 2 years post-menses.) She participated in our one-on-one Schroth program and opted for a brace to attempt postural improvement. A follow-up x-ray (at 17 years old) indicated curves of 41º and 30º. A 9º scoliosis curve reduction at Risser 5–another “unheard of” result! Now out of college and more than five years later, she recently wrote Dr. Marc a wonderful letter telling him of the positive impact her experience with us had on her life.
