This patient with severe scoliosis came to us after a recommendation for surgery. Hers is a wonderful result, especially considering that she was 4 years past menses and at Risser 5 (considered skeletally mature) at the start of treatment. She participated in one-on-one Schroth instruction and opted for a Gensingen Brace, with the goal of attaining postural improvement. Her most recent x-ray (at 17 years old) indicated curves of 41º and 30º. Curve reduction at Risser 5–another “unheard of” result!
