• 10.75-year-old female
  • Initial Cobb angle 27°
  • Risser 0

This patient came from Bermuda to visit Boston Children’s Hospital. The doctor she saw there recommended bracing. Her mom had also booked an appointment with us while she was in the area. Fortunately, we were able to deliver bracing turnaround within a day, so mom decided to go that route rather than make another trip to BCH at a later date to receive a brace. This patient’s Cobb angle reduction is technically not considered a reduction as it’s 5° (the margin of error of measurement). Nonetheless, we wanted to share her result as scoliosis can worsen during periods of growth and this patient has been able to remain stable over the last 2+ years. No progression is still a great result! Moreover, her spine is now closer to midline and much better balanced (as shown by the red plumb lines).
