- Initial Cobb angles: 28º & 33º
- Out of brace results: 17º & 16º
- Risser 3
This teen with scoliosis came to us from Long Island, NY, this past April just after her initial scoliosis diagnosis. For her scoliosis treatment she opted for our Chêneau style scoliosis brace and our Schroth exercise therapy program. The x-ray, left, shows a moderate scoliosis with Cobb angles of 28º thoracic and 33º lumbar. Her follow-up x-ray, just five months after bracing, along with consistent application of the Schroth techniques she learned resulted in a significantly corrected spine. On right, her September 2025, out-of-brace x-rays show Cobb angles of 17º thoracic and 16º lumbar, an 11º and 17º reduction of scoliosis curvatures. As a Risser 3, her window of opportunity for improvement is closing but we are optimistic for some degree of continued spinal correction.
