SCOLIOSIS 3DC-Schroth Method Exercise

Schroth Method Scoliosis Exercise & Breathing from Germany

German Scoliologic™ “Best Practice” Trip Wrap-Up

Just thought I would give a quick wrap up of my German trip before too much time elapses. The trip was very successful even though I had to deal with the complications from the volcano and the shutdown of the airports.

There were many highlights. Working alongside Dr. Weiss, observing and questioning him is always informative and inspirational and fun. Meeting Christa Lehnert-Schroth and having a very leisurely European lunch with her was a great pleasure. I made a stop at the Asklepios Katharina Schroth Clinic to pay a visit to my old friends there. It is always good to see them and be in that environment. Finally, my presentation on Saturday afternoon went well.

I presented along with three others German physical therapists. They were very high caliber people. They all possessed a wealth of knowledge regarding the treatment of scoliosis. I enjoyed discussions with each of them over the course of the long weekend and took away many interesting ideas to research and consider. All three invited me to visit their German facilities to see how they treat scoliosis and I will be sure to take them all up on their invitations at some time in the future.

One of the physical therapists has been practicing Schroth for twenty years. She was trained by Christa Lehnert-Schroth, who was in attendance at the conference. It was interesting to hear the therapist’s experiences over time, and her views that patient compliance has changed due to societal distractions.

After speaking at the seminar, there was a question and answer period. There were numerous questions from the attendees about the way I treat. They were also curious about the way scoliosis patients are treated in the US, if they are not treated using the Schroth Method. They were truly surprised to hear about the lack of exercise therapy for scoliosis patients in the US.

I will be returning to Gensingen in early June to spend another week in Dr. Weiss’ Scoliologic™ Best Practice clinic to continue my pursuit of excellence in the treatment of scoliosis.

Thanks for sharing. Sorry about the volcano! I too am fascinated about the lack of exercise therapy that we do in the US and how there is no support from insurance companies and many doctors. For a country that is so advanced in many ways, we are severely lacking common sense when it comes to matters like scoliosis.

Recent Schroth Results

A recent email from a mother of twins with scoliosis: "Just got back from S's six months appointment (L doesn't have to go anymore!) Her curves got even better. A year ago she was 39º and 31º, six months ago 31º and 33º, today she is 28º and 31º. The doctor says keep doing whatever she is doing. I am ready to shout from the roof top. SCHROTH REALLY WORKS!!!!!! I never expected her to get even better. Thank God we found you Marc."  K.Y. Connecticut
