- 11-year-old female
- Initial Cobb angles 16º/26°
- Risser 0
This young patient’s spine responded almost immediately to her Schroth exercise program and Chêneau-Gensingen brace. Within six months her thoracolumbar Cobb angle had reduced to 13º and her thoracic spine was straight. Her brace wear time was reduced and her curves continued to resolve. Once her Cobb angles measured 4º and 5º (no longer scoliosis) Dr. Marc told her she could stop wearing her brace (that was nearly three years ago)! EK2, still a Risser 0 at that point had much potential for growth. This lovely girl still checks in every few months. She is now a Risser 4 – almost fully grown. Her ATR (angular trunk rotation– measured by scoliometer) reduced from an initial measurement of 9º to 1º. We expect that in the next few months she will be completely grown – a case of scoliosis improved permanently!
